Lager malt/wheat malt/Cascade, Phoenix and First Gold hops.

A pale yellow beer with a surprisingly malty nose. The sweetish taste is also malty yet quickly becomes crisp and lightly citrus. Bittersweet, lemony, lingering malt finish. A fruity bitter named after the brewery's home town

CHEF'S RECOMMENDATION
Heacham Gold is a favourite of our chef, dry and fruity yet well rounded, makes this a really good accompaniment to chicken and fish. The dryness would cut through any classic chicken with sauce dish. It would also be great with risottos.

IPA - (bottle)

A traditional I.P.A. re-created by Mark after researching beer recipes from the 19th Century

IPA - (bottle)

STRENGTH
ABV 5.2% BOTTLE SIZE: 500ml SERVE: Cool

INGREDIENTS
Maris Otter pale malt/crystal malt/Target and First Gold hops.

TASTING NOTES
A golden orange coloured ale with a sharp, citrus fruit, hop aroma. The taste is dry, hoppy and packed with zesty citrus fruit flavours with an underlying buttery malt taste and a dry finish.

CHEF'S RECOMMENDATION
As its brewed using a traditional recipe, lets stick with the idea of the Raj. With the dry, zesty fruit aroma and flavour, IPA would cut right through the heavy, thick sauces of a traditional Indian curry, and not just a Chicken Tikka Masala Balti! The yoghurty creaminess of a Korma, or maybe even the fiery heat of a Madras.

Jamestown

Jamestown

STRENGTH ABV 4.8%
BOTTLE SIZE 500ml
SERVE cool

This beer was commissioned to mark the 400th anniversary of Jamestown Virginia. Heacham is linked through John Rolfe, husband of Pocahontas.
NOTES
Pocahontas, known as the Lady Rebecca, is depicted in Stuart Dress, the kind she would have worn at the Court of King James. The image is taken from a wood cut created in 1617. The founding of Jamestown is a significant historical event. Rolfe, aside from his marriage to the remarkable Pocahontas, played an important rolw in those events.

Heacham Kriek - (bottle)

Smooth Fruit Ale in the Belgian Style

Heacham Kriek - (bottle)

STRENGTH
ABV 5.1% BOTTLE SIZE: 500ml SERVE: Cool

INGREDIENTS
Contains real cherries.

A play on words, named after the River Hitch's joining of the Wash! A Belgian styled brown ale brewed with locally grown black cherries. Note "brewed with", rather than the addition of any fruit concentrate at the end of the brew, as most mass produced Krieks are!.

TASTING NOTES
A deep reddish brown coloured ale with a thick pinkish-white head. A sweet malty, chocolate and coffee aroma, with the cherry fruit coming through. The taste is rich and smooth, chocolate and coffee complimenting the subtle, dry cherry fruit flavours that come from the real fruit in the mash.

CHEF'S RECOMMENDATION
The classic combination of Roast Duck and cherry sauce springs to mind! When my local wildfowlers manage to acquire some, I make a sauce using the Kriek and suggest serving the beer as well. Also, with its smooth malty elements, it could make a good accompaniment to any chocolate desserts, Mousse au Chocolat for example.

Winner of the real ale shop 2006 Octoberfest
